January 1: Walking In Dominion
Genesis 1:26, “Let them have dominion!” When God made man, He gave him dominion over everything on the earth. To have an idea of the kind of dominion that man would have had, had he not sinned, we need to look at the perfect man, Jesus Christ.
When Jesus wanted to pay the temple tax, He commanded a fish to bring the money to Him (Matt. 17:24-27). When He wanted to feed the multitude, He only needed to multiply the five loaves and two fishes in His hands (Mark 6:34-44). When a storm threatened the lives of His disciples, He only had to speak to the storm and there was perfect calm (Mark 4:35-41). Every sick person who was brought to Him went away healed. He even brought the dead back to life because He had dominion over death. Today we have the same dominion that Jesus exercised because He is in us. Colossians 1:27, “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you the hope of glory.”
God in this hour is separating unto Himself a people who desire Him above all else. Our dominion authority can only flow out of a deep dependent relationship. Jesus, the Son of God, was totally dependent and submitted to the will of the Father. It is in this place of total dependence that we must find ourselves.
According to Eph. 1:20, because we are part of Christ we are now seated in a ruling place or a place of dominion. In fact, it is the highest place of authority in the universe, other than that of God the Father. Jesus said, “All authority [all power of rule] has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” (Matt. 28:18). Then Paul continues, “Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred] not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come (Eph. 1:21 AMP). Jesus restored dominion rule back to the church when He gave His life of the cross. When we are immersed in His life we are placed back into that place of dominion. “And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him who makes everything complete, and who fills everything everywhere with Himself]” (Eph. 1:22-23).
This year will be a year in which we will see dominion authority begin to come forth as people begin to walk on this earth as He did. Throughout the generations a remnant have walked in this way but now a corporate Christ is coming forth to obey the Father as He did. Do you hear Him calling you?
Get ready for a massive door is about to open in 2012.
Have a Blessed and Prosperous New Year.
